* I was told on 8/25/04 that while U.S. Air no longer offers flights to Governor’s Harbour (GHB), effective February 2005, passengers will be able to travel on Bahamas-Air (on a 32-37 passenger, turbo prop plane) and still earn/redeem their frequent flier miles. Please note that this will be a connecting flight from Nassau.

The BoHengy travels from Nassau to Governor's Harbour and back on Fridays and Sundays. One can travel to Harbour Island daily. The BoHengy, which is a 115-ft catamaran that can accommodate 177 passengers, offers a very comfortable and dependable ride. Click here for Ferry Schedule

Mail Boat:
It costs about $40 roundtrip from Nassau on Bahamas Daybreak III and Eleuthera Express; Mondays-Tuesdays. Each one-way trip takes about five hours (about twice as long as the BoHengy). For more information contact the Port Authority at (242) 393-1064.

By Land 

Like Eleuthera, the car rental process is quite relaxed and informal. 

There are three steps: 

1. Ask a local representative at the airport about renting a car;

2. Agree on the price; and

3. Collect the keys.  

It is that easy!  You can expect to pay about $60 a day for car rentals and $70 per day for jeep rentals.  The weekly rates are negotiable.
